Checking One Candle Before Immediate Entry
By Walid Mograbi · · 2 min read
A fast method to interpret the last candle’s open, close, body, and wicks before taking any immediate trade action.
Core lesson
Before acting on a single candle, treat its reading as an initial signal only. Confirm the timeframe and overall trend first, then consider execution.
Candle structure you need first
- Open and close make up the body.
- High and low define the upper and lower wicks.
- This gives a first picture of movement control or volatility level.
Direction clues from one candle
- Close above open may indicate an upward bias.
- Close below open may indicate a downward bias.
- A very small body can indicate relative balance between buyers and sellers.
Three checks before immediate execution
- Compare open to close to estimate probable direction.
- Check wick length; long wicks may suggest strong rejection or high volatility.
- Evaluate close position: at candle edge or near the middle.
Practical benefit
Applying this sequence gives you a unified standard for reading the latest candle quickly, helping reduce impulsive decisions during immediate trading.
When not to enter right away
If wicks are very long or the close is near the candle middle, do not use the candle as a standalone signal. Treat it as a waiting phase and seek confirmation before entering.
Warning
This is educational content, not a trade entry recommendation. Immediate trading is risky and can lead to losses.
